County Park

Linwood Road's entrance to the eponymous Harford Park.

In addition to being the name of our community, Harford Park is also a 7.2 acre park area managed by the Parkville Recreation Office. It contains a playground, tennis courts, trails, and multipurpose courts

The Parkville Recreation Council meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 8 p.m in the Parkville Recreation Center.  May & June 8:30 p.m.  No meeting in July or August.

Wildlife

In the stream you may encounter a Northern Banded Water Snake.  They are a common water snake in this area.   They eat fish.  They can be somewhat aggressive, so it is best not to try to pick them up, but they are not poisonous.   Seeing them in the park is actually a really good thing!  It means our stream is a healthy ecosystem.  This is not a Copperhead. Copperheads have a very distinct triangular head.  Thanks to Elena Lomicky for her expert identification.
